Then, it was Audrey's turn to paint. I have never told Audrey that she needs to tell a story when she does her painting, but she is always so excited to tell me one anyway. She told a story of a big snowstorm that covered the earth in snow and did not stop.
For painting day this week, we started painting with blue using the wet-on-wet watercolor technique. As I painted with blue, I told Audrey a story of a little girl who needed a new quilt for her bed to keep her warm for the cold and dark winter days coming quickly. The little girl's mother made her a cozy quilt with patches of all the shades of blue from the dark blue of the night sky to the soft glowing blue of the icy pond.
