Sipping nectar from the flowers when the days are sunny.
They are busy, busy all the day. Zoom, zoom, zoom.
We do not have time to play. Zoom, zoom, zoom!"

Let Them Be Little |

"Let them be little, 'cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day. Let them cry, let them giggle; let them sleep in the middle, oh, let them be little."
- Written and Sung by Billy Dean
"Little bees work very hard making golden honey. Sipping nectar from the flowers when the days are sunny. They are busy, busy all the day. Zoom, zoom, zoom. We do not have time to play. Zoom, zoom, zoom!" ~from Sing a Song of Seasons by M T Schunamann After our trip to the honey farm we have been as busy as bees. We spent some time learning more about bees. Audrey told me that it was the best thing we learned about all year! First we made homemade beehive bread. We made one of our favorite bread recipes and then rolled it into long "snakes" and twisted the rolls together into a beehive shape. Sadly, there is no picture of the finished bread because it looked terrible. However, it tasted just fine. Then Audrey used honeycomb sheets of beeswax to make her own "day" and "night" beeswax candles. We also made a beeswax votive candle with flower petals. Finally, we made our own honeycomb shapes with "honey" (tissue paper) inside. We needle felted a wool bee to go with it. It now hangs in our playroom and looks so cute. I wish I had take a picture of it!
