We spent the 4th of July at the farm, our friends' family farm. We did this last year too. The kids loved playing with all the farm animals; the sheep, cows, chickens, kittens, and a spunky little dog named Buttons. They jumped and climbed on the huge bales of hay. We ate a potluck dinner with hot dogs fresh off the grill, and we brought one of the desserts, our Flag Cake, which was the best one I've made so far! The kids also swam in the pool, did all sorts of fun fireworks, and lit sparklers. The most anticipated part of the day was the fireworks show that our friends' family puts on every year. They put on the best fireworks show that we have ever seen. So many fireworks, so big, and so close-up!
