Each week we read a new story. We read that same story every day of that week. After we read the story, we expand on it with other activities throughout the week (arts, crafts, science, social studies). Our first story of the new school year was Pelle's New Suit by Elsa Beskow. This story is about a young boy and his sheep. He gets help from his family and friends to sheer his sheep, card the wool, spin the wool into yarn, dye the yarn, weave the yarn, and then sew it into a new suit. So, with friends, we dyed our own wool roving and yarn with Kool-Aid. The colors were so pretty. Then, we practiced weaving our yarn on a handmade loom.

Our story of loving and learning at home...
"Let them be little, 'cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day. Let them cry, let them giggle; let them sleep in the middle, oh, let them be little."
