Falling, falling, softly falling to the earth below.
On the trees and on the bushes on the mountains afar,
Tell me snowflakes do you come from where the angels are?"

"Let them be little, 'cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day. Let them cry, let them giggle; let them sleep in the middle, oh, let them be little."
- Written and Sung by Billy Dean
"Oh where do you come from you little flakes of snow? Falling, falling, softly falling to the earth below. On the trees and on the bushes on the mountains afar, Tell me snowflakes do you come from where the angels are?" We spent a week in January exploring snow. Our story for the week was The Story of the Snow Children by Sibylle von Olfers. This is one of my absolute favorite stories of all time, so magical! We made watercolor and crayon resist snowflakes. We also went out and explored the snow with a magnifying glass after reading The Story of Snow: The Science of Winter's Wonder. The close-up photographs of snowflakes in this book are amazing. Ethan really enjoyed making snow dough (white homemade play dough with silver glitter mixed in). He enjoyed playing with his cars in it.
