We read The story of the Fighting Kings for the number 3. Audrey drew a picture to represent the story. She also made the number 3 out of beeswax to go with her 1 and 2. It is so wonderful how much Audrey looks forward to listening to our math stories. She is always asking when we will read the next one!

For the letter E, we read The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies. Mr. McGregor sees the bunnies ears sticking out of the grass. It is in the ears where we found our shape and sound of the E. Later, we made some bunny ears for Audrey and Ethan to wear on their heads to wear, pretend, and play.
Our Little Guy turned 4! We started the celebration with a new birthday crown and 4 birthday pancakes stacked up tall with orange sprinkles and 4 candles on top. We continued the celebration with a special lunch just for Ethan...an all orange and dinosaur themed lunch. Our Valentine's Day was extra special this year! Grandma came to visit! We were so excited to pick up Grandma at the airport and spend this day and a few more with her. We had French Toast with heart shaped strawberries for breakfast on Valentine's Day. We made heart shaped cherry hand pies for dessert on Valentine's Day. Audrey put an "A" on her hand pie, just to be sure we all knew who could eat it!
For Baking Day, we made stained glass heart cookies. This was one of Audrey's "must do" activities for Valentine's Day. We used one of our favorite sugar cookie recipes, cut them into hearts, cut smaller hearts in the center, and put Jolly Ranchers in the centers to melt. Audrey loved the "rainbow look" of the melted Jolly Ranchers.
We made some special valentines for our favorite animal friends. Audrey made Bailey peanut butter and oat dog treats. Bailey loved them! She also made birdseed cookie treats to hang outside for our bird friends.
For Painting Day, we made watercolor and oil pastel resist Valentine hearts. Audrey has loved this watercolor technique since we made the snowflakes this way in January. So, she was excited to make hearts this way too! This was one of our favorite Valentine treats this year..Valentine Brown Sugar Blondies. The kids loved adding the Valentine colored M&Ms to the batter. When they were done baking, they just gobbled them up.
One of our favorite seasonal crafts is making stained glass with contact paper and tissue paper in a fun shape. We love putting them on the window near our front door to celebrate the season or holiday. We made pink and red hearts for Valentine's Day!

Our story of loving and learning at home...
"Let them be little, 'cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day. Let them cry, let them giggle; let them sleep in the middle, oh, let them be little."
