Celebrating Michaelmas -September 29, 2016

On Michaelmas, we celebrate bravery, strength, and courage by reading stories about dragons and brave knights and princesses.

First, we baked dragon bread -to be slayed and gobbled up later that day.

Then, we made dragon soup for dinner. Sophie chopped the carrots.

First Day of Fall Celebration -September 2016

We celebrated the first day of fall with a fall nature hike and warm apple cider. We were on the lookout for nature "treasures". We brought our treasures home to make fall nature prints with.

We found leaves, twigs, seeds, acorns, and nuts to make beautiful nature stamps.

After we read one of our favorite apple books, Apple Pie Tree, we made apple pies in a bowl. First, we peeled and chopped the apples.

Then we put it together. Crushed graham crackers as our crust, spiced cooked apples, and homemade whipped cream on top. YUM!
